Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students and Ph.D. candidates through Reserve Partners such as Rutgers University-Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences and the National Estuarine Research Reserve System.
Research Internships in Ocean Sciences (RIOS) Program
Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, RIOS provides an opportunity for undergraduates to work alongside researchers at the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences. Interns will conduct independent research in a modern laboratory and will be part of field investigations.
National Estuarine Research Reserve System’s Graduate Research Fellowship
These fellowships, funded by NOAA, provide an opportunity for master’s degree students and Ph.D. candidates to conduct research that addresses coastal zone management and enhances the understanding of estuarine ecosystems at one of the 27 Reserves around the country. Fellows will engage with experts on the reserve staff and will use reserve resources to gain hands-on experience.
